Paul: You know what's wrong with you, miss Whoever-you-are?
You're a chicken
. You're afraid to say "O.K., LIFE'S A
FACT.
"

People do fall in love. People do belong to each other
because that's
the only chance anybody's got for real
happiness.
You call yourself a free spirit, a wild thing.
You're terrified
somebody's going to stick you in a cage.
Well baby, you're already in
that cage. You built it
yourself and it's not bounded by Tulip, Texas,
or Somaliland..
it's wherever you go because no matter where you run,

you just end up running into yourself.
Holly: You know those days when you get the mean reds?

Paul: the mean reds? ...You mean like the blues?

Holly: The blues are because you're getting fat or it's
been raining too long.
They're just sad, that's all.
The mean reds are horrible. Suddenly you're afraid and

you don't know what you're afraid of. Don't you ever get
that feeling?

Paul: sure

Holly: When I get it, what does any good is to jump into
a cab and go to Tiffany's
calms me down right away .. the
quietness, the proud look... nothing very bad could
happen
to you there. If I could find a real-life place that made
me feel like
Tiffany's, then... then I' buy some furniture
and give the cat a name.

I'm livin' livin' livin' life with all its ups and downs
Now she can stand,
and take the cup out of his giving hand,
and feel what they have learned inside each other
fair and enough, and not without a kind
of satisfaction, that she can put her foot
down, clear to the bottom of desire,
and find that it can stop, and go no further.

We spend our whole lives worring about the future,
planning for the future,
trying to predict the future...
as if figuring it out will somehow cushion the blow
but the future is always changing.
The future is the home of our deeper fears
and of all our hopes.
But one thing is certain:
we it finally reveals itself,
the future is never the way we imagined.

Here's a thing about surrender:
once you do it, actually get in,
you forget why you were even fighting in the first place -
Even when our hopes give way to reality,
and we finally have to surrender to the truth,
it just means we lost today's battle
not tomorrow's war.

Hey you!
Up in the sky,

learning to fly,
tell me how high
do you think you'll go
before you start falling ...
